The success of Groupon has to be encouraging to startups and aspiring entrepreneurs.
In less than 2 years since launching Groupon the company has expanded to 170 cities in 22 countries. Their rapid growth is even more impressive when you realize that they were only active in 5-6 cities just one year ago.
They have also grown to more than 1000 employees and, at the time of this interview, had approximately 12 million people receiving daily emails with great deals on the best things to do, see, eat and buy. Groupon partners with local businesses and leverages the power of group purchasing by promising the business owners a minimum number of customer in exchange for deals that can’t be found elsewhere.
