I guess you can call him Chad Veinticinco Mil after his latest fine from the NFL.
The NFL recently fined Chad Ochocinco for two rule violations – possessing an electronic device and posting messages on Twitter – during the Bengals preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles on 08.20.10.
After taking a big hit in the game Ochocinco tweeted:
“Man Im sick of getting hit like that , its the damn preseason [expletive]! 1day I’m gone jump up and start throwing hay makers , #Tylenolplease,” .
He later apologized in a humorous way via twitter of course:
The way I see it is this – Ochocinco is a brand. He can pay the traditional media $25k to market his brand or he can pay $25k for his name to be mentioned across traditional and new media. He certainly receives more bang for his marketing buck when he goes the latter route. #NewMediaWin.
He’s keeping his name in the news. He’s staying relevant despite the signing of T.O. You shouldn’t have any doubt that Ochocinco will find a place as an NFL commentator after his playing career is over. They reward the outspoken. Just ask Michael Irvin and Shannon Sharpe.
Ocho’s paying $25,000 to the NFL. I’m posting this comment. Let’s see who gets more traffic.
